I have a unique business opportunity that addresses many of the problems that face the world today. My perspective on the HVAC business has uncovered a deep need that will lead to tremendous profits to an investor who partners with me to develop the under utilized aftermarket.  If you study my website and blogs you will see my business philosophy. I have seen the hypocrisy of stimulating the economy by creating a never-ending need for building new grey boxes(air-conditioning equipment) and converting the service force into a sales force. In discerning the problem, I have created a solution for global warming.  Many mega corporations are looking for ways to greenwash their corporate image. If they partner with us they can be part of the solution to global warming.

For instance, take note of this statistic from the Department of Energy: 90 % of the air conditioners in America are over-sized.  This comes from two fatal errors brought on by ignorance that can be corrected with education.

1) People think that bigger is better but in air conditioning, it is worse.  Over-sized air conditioning equipment not only wastes energy, it simply doesn’t work as well for dehumidification.  Equipment should be sized so that it runs all day when the outdoor temperature is in the high 90’s because the longer it runs the more moisture is condensed out of the air. Over-sized equipment comes on in the morning as soon as the inside temperature starts to rise and cuts off before it even has a chance to saturate the inside coil. Load calculations are done quite infrequently.

2) The huge push by the big box home improvement companies and the government programs for increasing energy efficiencies have had a negative effect on the sizing of air conditioning equipment. For instance, imagine an air conditioner that is sized properly for the house that it services. Then just think of what happens when new windows and/or insulation are added in order to increase the efficiency of the home. What has happened inadvertently to the load of the air-conditioner?

Now you can see between these two factors how the Department of Energy arrived at the alarming statistic mentioned previously. And what can be done. Two things are being done .

1) National Building Codes are now requiring load calculations on every new construction.

2) There are new compressors available in high seer equipment that has two motor speeds. For instance, one compressor can run as a two ton and as the house warms up it can ramp up to a three ton. In this way the original load calculation isn’t all important after all and thermostats can work together with humidistats to control equipment and provide comfort and efficiency.

But there is another thing that is not being done and can be quite easily. As I mentioned previously we are not interested in selling people equipment to replace equipment that only needs to be repaired. We can however offer with honest enthusiasm products that increase efficiency of existing equipment.
