Elephant Ears Service Company is a heat and air conditioning service and installation Company founded in 1999 to service the Chattanooga area. It was actually named for the plants and their unique ability to grow to the size of the water supply.

We treat your air conditioner the way that we would want to be treated if we were an air conditioner. We will not replace your air conditioner if you call us to fix it. Before we tell you about the significance of the plants and the history of the Company, let me tell you what Elephant Ears Service Company is now.

David Evatt is the single source of responsibility and if he is wrong, talk to his wife Donna. Don’t be surprised if David and one of his twin sons or Donna shows up to fix your air conditioner. She is not a service tech but it is only because she doesn’t want to be. She can fix air conditioners telepathically when she wants to but we don’t make any money that way. Seriously, we have saved hundreds of customers a lot of money by allowing them to describe the symptoms over the phone. Many times the conversation ends with turn the thermostat off and the fan on and change the filter. Take two aspirin and turn it back on in the morning and see if you feel better. If it doesn’t blow cold, call us back.

When we say family business, we mean that we treat our customers like family.

Elephant Ears are the plants that we chose to represent us as a living logo.  We plant them by our customers unit and the more water they get, the bigger they grow.  In hot humid climates like the area around Chattanooga, Tennessee, dehumidification is even more important than temperature.  If an air-conditioner removes the moisture from the air, you can be comfortable at higher temperatures.  Many of the recent developments in the industry have been aimed at this principle of refrigeration.  This is why we chose the plant to bring more attention to the role of air conditioning in removing moisture from the air in your home for your health and comfort.

We have been in business since 1999.  The owner, David Evatt, graduated from Georgia Northwestern Technical Institute in 1996.  He first began to develop the idea for the Hybrid Upgrade while still a student.  He worked for several different heat and air, refrigeration and electrical contracting companies before deciding to start his own business.  Mr. Evatt once drove all the way from Rossville , Georgia to Myrtle Beach , South Carolina for what ended up being the adjustment of a thermostat.  On his long drive back he decided to start a service company that only works in the immediate area.

Return policy: All service parts carry a one year warranty unless otherwise specified. New equipment replacement carry a ten year parts only warranty when the equipment is duly registered at Goodmanmfg.com Labor warranty is available on equipment replacement at an extra charge

Privacy policy: We do not share your personal information with any other party for any reason without express written permission. We have no plan to sell the business contacts and are working to train new technicians.

terms and conditions of service include but are not limited to making ourselves available for service even emergency service and if unavailable a backup service company will be made available for you to contract with directly. We expect to be your only service company but second oinions and even estimates are encouraged.

We don’t sale anything directly from this site. We expect a phone call, email or text. Leaving voicemails should be followed up in person. IM is okay but text is better. A text is best when sending an address. We will contact you back to let you know when to expect a service call. We try to contact you once to confirm and again when on the way. Please put us in your contacts so you will know to answer. If you don’t have a doorbell, keep your phone handy.

FAQ Our philosophy is service first. Too many service companies put sales first. They will even send out salespeople on service calls. Our best model is to get years and even decades out of well installed equipment. It is our responsibility to let you know when your equipment is nearing the end of its useful life. We need hands on experience with your unit to avoid parts changing outside of warranty. It takes years of professional experience to guide this decision.

Help Center: If you read our blogs you will see that our energy policy is different from the Federal Government. If you have natural gas already installed at your house I will encourage you to keep it. I will also encourage you to have an air conditioner that is a heat pump. This gives you two stages/choices for heat.

Elephant Ears Service Company is a small company on purpose. We don't believe "bigger is necessarily better". Staying small allows us to focus on our customer service.
